What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Leaky Gut Syndrome
Greetings. Eric Bakker, naturopath from NewZealand, author Candida Crusher. I've got a question here from a guy in the States.I'm not going to mention his name. He wanted to stay anonymous. He's asking me Eric, whatare the signs and symptoms of leaky gut syndromeé The signs and symptoms, there could be a tonof them. I've done a few tutorials on leaky gut, and I did one just before basically on howdo you know that you've got leaky guté What are some of the conditions that are obviouswith ité The most common signs and symptoms of leakygut syndrome are gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, IBS, irritable bowel syndrome. These are very common ones. There are tons
of them. You can get digestive discomfortwith leaky gut. And a common place to get it is anywhere around here where the smallintestine is. Anywhere around this region, it's centrally. The large intestine tendsto be more the perimeter and the small intestine tends to be more central. Anywhere central. This is why people with parasites tend to have more of a sensation around the umbilicalcord because that is really a central part of the small intestine. And parasites, inmy opinion, especially acute parasite infections, tend to favor the small intestine, particularlythe center of it, the ileum. But when you've got leaky gut, you could alsofeel sensations a little bit higher up. And
they can be here sometimes. You could almostthink you've got heartburn. Leaky gut doesn't usually radiate any pain toward the back likea gall bladder pain or pancreatic pain will. It tends to be more frontal. And it can besomething like bloating, gas, or having to undo your waistband after a meal. Generally, you're not going to get pains off to the side as I mentioned because that's generally morecolon or large intestine dysfunction. It will be a central kind of disturbance. For the lesser known complaints with leaky gut can be things like brain fog, itchy skin, sore joints, seasonal allergies, immune dysfunction, insomnia, there can be a whole raft of differentthings that signal leaky gut syndrome. Remember,
what we're doing with leaky gut is we're allowingundigested food particles to enter into the bloodstream or potentially Candida or celldebris or all sorts of rubbish that really should be digested properly and filtered throughthe microvilli. But they're bypassing the microvilli, getting in through the intracellularjunctions, and challenging immune system. When we challenge the immune system, therecould be a myriad of complaints that could be possible. Thyroid dysfunction, autoimmunedisease, diabetes, all sort of conditions can occur as a result long term. Leaky gutis something that you really want to fix up in the early stages rather than let it buildup over a 10, 20, or 30 year period when it
gets seriously bad.Imagine you've got a small amount of rot in a roof of a house. In fact, my house thatI'm living in now, this is the rebuilt section, but old house up the front here. I've gota 100year old cottage. We built this extension on. But when we put a whole new roof overthe lot, we found so much rot in the roof of the old house. It cost me a fortune toget all the new beams replaced. Had that been repaired a long, long time ago, maybe 30,40 or 50 years ago, it would have been quite cheap. But now, it was in the tens of thousandsof dollars to repair that damage. Because the damage just continued on and on. And ifthe damage would have continued on for many
more years, the whole roof would have hadto be replaced, all the timber at a huge cost. Now, your digestive system is like that. Ifyou don't fix something up now when you've got a bit of gas or a bit of bloating or afew headaches or aches or pains, you can imagine what will happen if you leave that undisturbedfor 20, 30 or 40 years. Those are the functional complaints that end up becoming autoimmunediseases and even cancer. Lots of people laugh and joke when they pass gas, they fart, butwhat they don't realize is that this condition if it gets serious and long term, it's goingto be a major problem. And then there is no more laughing. Then there is crying. A stitchin time saves nine.
Candida Case HELP My Stool Is A Funny Color
Greetings. New Zealand naturopath, Eric Bakker, author of Candida Crusher, formulator of the Canxida range of dietary supplements. Thankyou so much again for checking out my tutorial. And thank you also for all my fans out there, all the emails I'm getting. I've been getting lots of good comments on YouTube. I'm gettinglots of comments on Facebook. Yeastinfection , we're getting some nice feedback. I'm alsonow a member of various closed group communities on Facebook. One recently that I've joinedis the Swedish Group, so that's at Candida Cleanse Sweden, and I think we've got about2,500 members on that Facebook page. I'm quite happy to be part of different Facebook forums. If you're involved in any Facebook groups,
please let us know. We've got an email question from a lady called Linda Dearsly and Linda lives in Connecticutin the USA. Linda is asking me about the different colors of stool. What do they meané She'sa bit alarmed because her stool sometimes is quite a light color and she wants to knowwhat the heck that means. I was going to call this tutorial the 50 Shades of Poo. I thoughtI better not do that because it might offend a few people. Instead of calling it the 50Shades of Poo, we're just basically going to call it What's wrong with my stoolé It'sa funny color. Let's talk a little bit about different colorsof stool. Normally, a bowel motion will be
brown color. If you've got that brown tancolor to the stool and you're passing out 12 to 18 inches of bowel motion a day, cigarshaped, low odor, easy to pass, you've got good bowel function. You've generally gotgood bacteria. You're eating a reasonable amount of fiber. You've got a good balancein your autonomic nervous system. You're probably not under too much stress. Stress has a significanteffect on the shape of the stool. I'll probably discuss it in another tutorial. For example, irritable bowel syndrome, we know that 50 percent of IBS is stress related.People with IBS can sometimes have diarrhea, constipation. People with normal bowel likeme will generally have a bowel motion in the
morning and generally have a bowel motionin the afternoon. I consider two bowel motions a day to be quite good. Very good indeed.A good friend of mine that practiced in Africa for many, many years and then went over tothe UK, the Island to practice, noticed some massive changes in what he found in bowelfunction. Indigenous people living in underdeveloped countries eat five, six, seven, ten timesmore fiber than people who live in the western developed nations. Consequently, they passout more, cleaner, smaller, more frequent motions and they don't have to wipe theirbum. Because they've got a clean, dry stool. In the western world, we're one of the veryfew creatures that actually use toilet paper.
Probably the only creature. You don't seedogs or cats wiping their bottoms with toilet paper or certainly you wouldn't see birdsor any animals doing it. The humans have got this funny desire every time we go groceryshopping to throw the toilet paper in the shopping trolley and to use that. I hope thisisn't embarrassing you too much. Part of my job with patients is to talk a lot about poosand urination and stool odor and all that sort of stuff, so I don't find that foreign. My apologies if you're getting offended by this, but it's all part of normal human healthis to have a good bowel motion. And I can tell you, there's nothing more satisfyingthan having a good poo, getting up and feeling
like you've cleaned right out. It's reallya sign of good health is to have good bowel function. The brown color as I mentioned before I got off track is really what happens. Red bloodcells die and they form part of the bowel pigment that gets produced by the liver andstored in the gall bladder. Bile is secreted into the small intestine during the digestiveprocess. An increase or decrease in bile can certainly change the color of stool. Excessbile can make it greasy, yellowy, greeny color sometimes. Insufficient bile can make it avery pale or white color. It can signify liver disorder. It can signify a biliary obstruction. It's an obstruction of the bile passage or
Starchy Carbs and Some Fruits May Not Aggravate If You Try This Trick
Greetings. It's Eric Bakker back to you again.New Zealand naturopath. Author of Candida Crusher. Thanks for coming back and checkingout my tutorial. I'm going to talk about grains and starchy foods today. I don't know howmany tutorials I've seen. How many blogs I've looked at and how many people I've talkedto who think all grains are completely unacceptable on the yeast infection diet. They think youcan't eat bread. You can't eat potatoes. You can't eat starchy foods. That somehow thesefoods are toxic. They make you sick. They may turn you into some sort of weirdo or youturn into a Frankenstein overnight. Some sort of crazy stuff like that. But I can tell you now, this is a load of
crap. I've learned from experience that youneed to try these things for yourself because one size doesn't fit all. By heating and modifyingthe starch, it can change the way that the gut reacts to the starch. It can change howit ferments the starch in the bowel, how it breaks it down, how it absorbs it. I learnedthis a long time ago with bananas. I think in New York they say bananas. We know that bananas are not a great thing to eat with Candida. But I can tell you now, green bananas are usually perfectly fine. If you get a plantain banana or the greenones, you might have seen them sometimes at the markets. Go to the markets where the Samoans,Hawaiians or the Tongan people go to, the
big people, the wonderful people with greatsmiles and play good music. Those people often eat Taro and yams and green bananas and fish. The green bananas tend to be okay with Candida, especially if they're cooked in coconut milkand I've not found that to be a problem with a lot of people. So that blows your theoryright out of the water. You can't have bananas with a yeast infection. But if you try to have a yellow banana, the ones grown in Mexico or Guatemala, the tropics, that go really yellow and brown, they can make you feel like crap. You can get bloating, gas and headaches out of those. They can also create strong histamine like reactions inthe body. Some people can develop strong allergies
toward bananas, depending on the stage ofripeness when they're eating them. And that depends a lot on the sugar content and chemicalcontent. Because there are lots of different chemicals in fruits and vegetables.Cornell University did research on this years ago, looking at fruits and vegetables andthe chemical contents and how they affect humans. Any kind of vegetable or fruit willaffect you different depending on the stage of ripeness, i.e., how it's picked when youeat it. And also how it's processed in terms of heat. When you read something on a specificcarbohydrate diet, SCD, for example, book or the Gaps books when they say, quot; You can'teat this. You can't eat that.quot; You need to
sort of look at it and think, quot;Well, whatabout if I put chick peas in the pressure cookeré What about if I bake potatoes at ahigh temperatureé How will they sit with my tummyéquot; Lots and lots of people have comeback to me and said quot;Eric, that's funny. When I pressure cook chick peas, I can eat themperfectly well. But when I boil them and add hummus, I had gas like an elephant. I wasfarting the whole day like bull frog.quot; That could be your problem. If you've got a lot of gas because of a starchy food, think how it was cooked. Was it warmwhen you ate ité Was it cold when you ate ité How was it modified by heaté How was itcookedé If it was a fruit, at what stage of
ripeness was it pickedé How was it preparedéThat's a very interesting food for thought for you, so think about those things. Beforeyou discard a food immediately because it's starchy or a grain, try to modify it. Seewhat happens to the tummy. See what the bowel motion's like. See what the gas is like. Seewhat the discomfort is like and you might be pleasantly surprised. It might be perfectlyokay. Thanks for checking out my tutorial.
