Best Diet Approach To Cure Leaky Gut Syndrome
Thank for checking out my tutorial. We're goingto do a tutorial today on leaky gut. Basically, the best foods and diet to heal a leaky gut.As you're probably aware, I've done quite a few tutorials on this channel. I've been aroundfor a while now. This is my 27th year of practice. I've been seeing patients an awfully longtime, and I've seen every diet you can imagine. Just look behind me and look at all the bookshelves.I've gotten a few comments on how bent my bookshelves are. I made those when I was astudent, quite a long time ago now. I've got thousands of books. In fact, I've got twobookshelves here, another bookshelf here, I've got three bookshelves out in the back, and I've got boxes out in the back with more
books that my wife won't allow me to havein my room because it looks too crappy, she says, for patients.Let's talk a little bit about books, for example, and diets. There are thousands of diet booksout there. I've seen so many of them. I've been collecting books on health really sincemy 20s. I've read lots of books and I've looked at lots of blog sites on the best kind offoods to eat for leaky gut. I can remember reading about the Paleo diet when people weren'teven around that started thinking the Paleo diet was like the quot;inquot; thing. There is a guycalled Chris Kresser online in America who's very big with this Paleo diet. I read thisbook here, Paleolithic Prescription in 1988,
before it even became a fad. It's all a fadnow. And this book here is pretty cool, Native Nutrition. Again another book from the 80sand 90s. I read all those books when I was in my 20s and started to realize people needto eat common sense, basic foods. It's not rocket science. You probably know this book, The Gaps Diet. Another good book from Liz Lipski, DigestiveWellness. A good Irish friend of mine, John McKenna, books on the stomach. NourishingTraditions from Sally Fallon. The list goes on and on. Everyone has got their own takeon what are the best foods to eat. And everyone who comes out with a book like The Body EcologyDiet, The Specific Carbohydrate Diet, the
blah, blah diet, the blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah diet. There are millions of diet books out there. What you've got to try to get through your mind is no diet is going to be specific foryou. So when you've got The Specific Carbohydrate Diet, why don't we call it The Specific JaneDiet, The Specific Joe Diet, or The Specific Mary Dieté In my writing and teaching, I'vealways maintained that there is no such bloody thing as one diet that suits hundreds of people. That's why I would never write a diet book as such myself. If you looked at my Candida Crusher book and also in my psoriasis program that I recentlylaunched, you'll find that I really emphasize
a point that I want you to try to find thefoods that best suit you as a human being, not me or Donna Gates or not Sally Fallonor not Natasha CampbellMcBride, not Chris Kresser, not all these other people. They'renot bloody gurus. They're just people who write about diets, and they give you options. They give you recipes, but you need to experiment with these things. Every person who buys thesebooks or who sees me who's been on a program, they always end up modifying those programsto suit themselves. Many people tell me that when they've gone, for example, on the BodyEcology Diet; they find they can eat certain foods that Donna Gates says that they shouldavoid. And it's the same thing when people
go on any other diet like the Gut and PsychologyDiet. I've had a patient recently who's been onthe SCD Diet, The Specific Carbohydrate Diet, for about four years hard out and not feelingbetter. So I got this guy and his wife and two children, they're all on the diet, tomake modifications. I said, quot;Look, it's time to introduce bread.quot; quot;Oh, no. I can't eatbread. On the SCD diet, it says it's toxic. It's poison.quot; But when I got his wife to eatsome bread, just flat bread, chipati kind of bread, she felt good. In fact, she gaineda bit of weight. She improved. And then after a couple of weeks of observing his wife doingthis, this gentlemen did the same, and he
Top 7 Foods for Healing Leaky Gut
Hey guys, Axe here, of naturalmedicine. In this tutorial I'm going to share with you the top seven foods for healing leakygut along with the healing leaky gut diet. Leaky gut syndrome is where you get somethingcalled intestinal permeability. That's where certain proteins like gluten start to leakthrough your intestinal wall, get in your blood stream, and then cause systemic bodywide inflammation. It can cause inflammation of your thyroid causing Hashimoto's disease. It can cause inflammation of your large intestine and cause inflammatory bowel disease. It canalso cause inflammation causing food sensitivities and different reactions in your body. By consumingthese seven foods it can help you heal leaky
gut syndrome for good. Let's start off here with the number one food, and that's bone broth. Bone broth has traditionally been made by boiling or cooking the ligamentsof chickens as well as the bones and also bones from beef. What happens is certain aminoacids and minerals come out into the liquid. The most powerful amino acids are prolineand glycine. We know proline is a precursor to collagen. We know when your body stopsproducing collagen over time it's what causes you to get wrinkles and your skin to get loose. It's a similar thing with your digestive tract. We want that tight. We want those tight junctionstight in your gut. We don't want things like
gluten getting through. Proline and glycine, the amino acids in bone broth, help tighten it up and can help repair the damaged gutlining. Drinking bone broth every day is incrediblyhealthy for healing leaky gut syndrome. Also, bone broth contains Lglutamine, another aminoacid that really works as a BandAid for your small intestine and colon and really helpingprotect those areas. Again, bone broth, number one healing food for leaky gut. I recommendeight ounces two times a day. The best thing to do is get a big CrockPot and make realbone broth soup and drink that several times a day.
The second healing food for leaky gut syndromeis kefir or homemade yogurt. We know fermented dairy is the most probiotic rich super foodin the world today. If you can be getting goat's milk kefir or homemade yogurt. Homemadeyogurt should be fermented 24 to 29 hours. We know it contains specific types of probioticssuch as lactobacillus which have been shown to crowd out bad bacteria such as differenttypes of yeast and fungus and really help increase the probiotics in the gut. Listen, most people today have a severe probioticdeficiency. If you're going to heal leaky gut, you have got to restore any probioticdeficiencies. Again, kefir, goat's milk kefir
and yogurt are the best. You can find thoseat your local health food store. The third healing food for leaky gut syndromeare fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut, kimchi, kvass, and coconut kefir as well.Different types of fermented vegetables, especially sauerkraut, are greatly beneficial becauseit contains bacillus subtilis. Bacillus subtilis is a soil based probiotic. It also containslactobacillus plantarum probably in the largest levels. These probiotics in a similar fashioncrowd out bad bacteria. Also, they're at a certain Ph. You know thatreally sour, tart taste when you're tasting sauerkrauté Those are organic acids. Thoseacids really help feed and fuel probiotics
in the gut. It's not just about getting moreprobiotics. It's about creating an environment where probiotics can flourish. Again, gettingsauerkraut and kimchi and fermented vegetables in your diet is a great way to establish thatgood bacteria in the gut. The number four super food for healing leakygut is coconut products, especially coconut oil. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties. It contains the fatty acids lauric acid, capric acid, and caprylic acid. These are known asmedium chain fats or medium chain triglycerides. They kill off bad bacteria in the gut. Theyare very easy to digest. For that reason, all other oils in your diet should reallybe replaced with coconut oil when it comes
How to Overcome Autoimmune Disease
Hey guys, Axe here, of naturalmedicine and founder of DrAxe . In this tutorial, I'm going to do an advancedtraining on how to overcome autoimmune disease. I'll talk about my five steps to overcomeautoimmune disease with natural treatments, diet, supplements, essential oils and much, much more in this training tutorial. First off, autoimmune disease can affect manydifferent area of your body. Conditions such as lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoidarthritis, different types of inflammatory bowel diseaseall of these issues can beconnected to autoimmune disease. Hashimoto's thyroiditis can affect your thyroidand many other tissues and organs.
What happens in autoimmune disease is yourbody's own immune system starts to attack your own cells and tissues. So, what we have to do in order to beat andreverse autoimmune disease is we have to reduce inflammation and help modulate and balanceout your body's immune response. The number one step to start overcoming autoimmunedisease is to remove certain things from your diet. So, foods that cause an inflammatory reaction. . . I really believe 100% of autoimmune disease starts in your gut lining with a conditioncalled leaky gut.
That occurs when you have microscopic holesin your gut lining. Imagine your gut lining as a net in betweenyour intestines and your bloodstream. Well, that net can get rips and tears in itto where then certain things such as gluten, toxins, bad bacteria get into your bloodstreamover time if they stay in there. Your body will not only attack them. Often times it will start to affect and attackthe other tissues and cells within your own body. So, number one step is reduce the intake offoods that cause inflammation.
Number one is going to be sugar. If you're consuming processed sugar, it causesthe overgrowth of yeast in the body, which actually eats away at the gut lining causingleaky gut, which in turn causes autoimmune disease over time. Number two, hydrogenated oils or consumingtoo many omega6 fatty acids. That causes inflammation in the body. Also gluten and casein, so consuming wheat, bread and dairy products on a regular basis will absolutely cause inflammation in thebody.
Last but not least, overconsuming grains, and I'm talking about even whole grains, can cause inflammation in your body. So, for a time, if you have autoimmune disease, one of the big things you typically want to do is go grainfree for a period of time orat least consume grains that have been sprouted and slowcooked for a long time like a wildsprouted rice that you cook and make into kanji. That's okay for some people but in generalwith autoimmune disease, you want to go grain free for a time.
And then last here, any additivesfood colorings, artificial sweeteners, any type of packaged foodyou typically want to stay away fromor processed food or fast foods with autoimmune disease. The key there is reducing inflammation. Then what we want to do step number two iswe want to transform your diet and start consuming foods that help heal your cells and tissuesand help reduce inflammation. The number one food group is going to be cookedvegetables. With autoimmune disease, you typically don'twant to do a lot of raw foods.
