What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Leaky Gut Syndrome
Greetings. Eric Bakker, naturopath from NewZealand, author Candida Crusher. I've got a question here from a guy in the States.I'm not going to mention his name. He wanted to stay anonymous. He's asking me Eric, whatare the signs and symptoms of leaky gut syndromeé The signs and symptoms, there could be a tonof them. I've done a few tutorials on leaky gut, and I did one just before basically on howdo you know that you've got leaky guté What are some of the conditions that are obviouswith ité The most common signs and symptoms of leakygut syndrome are gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, IBS, irritable bowel syndrome. These are very common ones. There are tons
of them. You can get digestive discomfortwith leaky gut. And a common place to get it is anywhere around here where the smallintestine is. Anywhere around this region, it's centrally. The large intestine tendsto be more the perimeter and the small intestine tends to be more central. Anywhere central. This is why people with parasites tend to have more of a sensation around the umbilicalcord because that is really a central part of the small intestine. And parasites, inmy opinion, especially acute parasite infections, tend to favor the small intestine, particularlythe center of it, the ileum. But when you've got leaky gut, you could alsofeel sensations a little bit higher up. And
they can be here sometimes. You could almostthink you've got heartburn. Leaky gut doesn't usually radiate any pain toward the back likea gall bladder pain or pancreatic pain will. It tends to be more frontal. And it can besomething like bloating, gas, or having to undo your waistband after a meal. Generally, you're not going to get pains off to the side as I mentioned because that's generally morecolon or large intestine dysfunction. It will be a central kind of disturbance. For the lesser known complaints with leaky gut can be things like brain fog, itchy skin, sore joints, seasonal allergies, immune dysfunction, insomnia, there can be a whole raft of differentthings that signal leaky gut syndrome. Remember,
what we're doing with leaky gut is we're allowingundigested food particles to enter into the bloodstream or potentially Candida or celldebris or all sorts of rubbish that really should be digested properly and filtered throughthe microvilli. But they're bypassing the microvilli, getting in through the intracellularjunctions, and challenging immune system. When we challenge the immune system, therecould be a myriad of complaints that could be possible. Thyroid dysfunction, autoimmunedisease, diabetes, all sort of conditions can occur as a result long term. Leaky gutis something that you really want to fix up in the early stages rather than let it buildup over a 10, 20, or 30 year period when it
gets seriously bad.Imagine you've got a small amount of rot in a roof of a house. In fact, my house thatI'm living in now, this is the rebuilt section, but old house up the front here. I've gota 100year old cottage. We built this extension on. But when we put a whole new roof overthe lot, we found so much rot in the roof of the old house. It cost me a fortune toget all the new beams replaced. Had that been repaired a long, long time ago, maybe 30,40 or 50 years ago, it would have been quite cheap. But now, it was in the tens of thousandsof dollars to repair that damage. Because the damage just continued on and on. And ifthe damage would have continued on for many
more years, the whole roof would have hadto be replaced, all the timber at a huge cost. Now, your digestive system is like that. Ifyou don't fix something up now when you've got a bit of gas or a bit of bloating or afew headaches or aches or pains, you can imagine what will happen if you leave that undisturbedfor 20, 30 or 40 years. Those are the functional complaints that end up becoming autoimmunediseases and even cancer. Lots of people laugh and joke when they pass gas, they fart, butwhat they don't realize is that this condition if it gets serious and long term, it's goingto be a major problem. And then there is no more laughing. Then there is crying. A stitchin time saves nine.
Hey, guys, Axe here. I'm so excited toshare with you a new, cuttingedge product we have and one of the supplements that Ipersonally use the most and its collagen protein. And collagen protein is actually the aminoacids that you would find in something like bone broth today, which we know to be oneof the top healing foods in the entire world. Collagen really has four unique benefits andas I go through this tutorial, by the way, I also want to go through who needs to be takingthis and how it can benefit your health. But really, four main benefits. One, this really improves leaky gut or itreally supports your digestive tract. So collagen
really supports digestion. Also, it helpswith joint health and even things like any sort of joint discomfort. The other thing it can help with is helpingtone and tighten your skin. So it's used in a lot of skin products, collagen is. Lastbut not least, collagen is also used to support a healthy metabolism for things like fatburning, weight loss overall, even building muscle. But collagen is important for, really, allof those things. So what collagen is, again, its amino acidsand amino acids are the building blocks of protein. So, number one, if you are tryingto increase your metabolism or get more protein
in your diet, supplementing with collagenis fantastic and it works for so many people because collagen is dairyfree, it's glutenfreeand it's easily digested. So even a lot of people in things like the GAPS diet or peopleout there who are looking to really support and heal their gut, they use collagen insteadof protein powder. Or a lot of people like myself do protein powder and collagen, maybeeven some green superfood powder there in my morning smoothie. But again, collagen is really for anybodywho are looking for those four distinct ways to support their body and benefit their bodyand number one is joints. Collagen works because
collagen is the building blocks of your tissues. So if you're an athlete or you have any sort of joint pain or discomfort or you're a runneror any sort of stress on your joints or if you experience joint discomfort on a regularbasis, collagen is the building blocks of supporting your body and your body creatingnew and healthy tissues. That's why it's so great for your joints, whether it be issueswith your knees or hips or shoulders or risks or back or any of those joint areas, it'sfantastic. Collagen is a great thing you want to be supplementing with on a daily basis. Also, as I mentioned earlier, it's great foryour skin. Collagen is made up of two amino
acids primarily called proline and glycine.Proline is that amino acid that helps tighten your skin. So you're going to find collagensupplements are found in a lot of skincare products. It's even used by some people tohelp reduce issues like cellulite. But we know collagen is great because collagen helpsfirm, tone and tighten your skin. One of the things that happens as we startto age is your own skin and body starts producing less collagen. So you need to be getting morecollagen in your diet on a regular basis and so doing a little bit of collagen powder inyour morning smoothie or throughout the day is a great way to really support and toneand tighten your skin naturally.
Also, collagen is vitally important for helpingheal your gut. Now, collagen can be used or it's very similar to gelatin and collagenis what helps make up gelatin and those amino acids, proline and glycine. But your gut,we know issues like leaky gut. Your gut kind of works as a net and you can get holes inyour gut. Gluten can leak through and that's essentially what leaky gut is or digestiveissues. It's when things like gluten or casein or toxins leak through your gut, get intoyour bloodstream and cause systemwide inflammation which can then affect your joints. It caneven lead to things like autoimmune disease over time or skin issues or thyroid issuesor any sort of inflammatory reaction.
Hey, guys. Axe, Nutritionist and of Functional Medicine. Today, I want to talk to you about the benefits of Lglutemine powder.Lglutemine is an amino acid that is very, very abundant in the human body, especiallyin your musculoskeletal tissue. Lglutemine is used, primarily today . . . actually, firstit was used mostly by people in the fitness industry, people that were looking to preservemuscle tissue. So both loose weight, burn fat and gain muscle were the most common usesof Lglutemine powders today. You can see Lglutemine is basically this sort of whitepowder here. You can see on the tip of my finger. But, it's just an amino acid thatis a building block of protein.
But there are many benefits of Lgluteminealong with . . . I mentioned building muscle, igloo weight, burning fat. In addition tothat Lglutemine can also help heal and repair your gut. So, there are millions of peopletoday struggling with a condition called leaky gut, which, basically, is the main cause todayof autoimmune disease. It's the main cause of thyroid issues like Hashimoto's disease. It also causes arthritis, skin issues like psoriasis. And, so that's caused by leaky gut and Lglutemineis the number one amino acid your gut needs to help heal and repair leaky gut. So, ifyou have any type of digestive issue whatsoever,
what I believe by far the most important aminoacid you need in your diet is Lglutemine on a regular basis. So, again, using Lglutemineis great. What I recommend is typically between 2 to5 grams twice daily. There are two forms of Lglutemine. You can get regular Lglutemine,in what's called its free form, and that should be taken with food ideally because, basically,if it's not taken with food, it's not absorbed as well. There's another type of Lgluteminecalled transalanyl or alanylLglutemine, and that's an amino acid attached to anotheramino acid which basically manes you're going to digest it much better. You can take iton an empty stomach, but it's really best
taken your meal right before and after workouts,in terms of it really supporting your metabolism, both weight loss as well as building muscle, retaining muscle. So it really keeps you from losing muscle. So, let's say for instance, you have an elderly person and they are starting to waste awayfrom kikexia, which is from cancer, and they're wasting away over time, Lglutemine is thenumber one supplement they should be taking that's keeps them from having muscle wasting. If you're an athlete and you're out there working really hard but you know, becauseyou did a lot of training, that you're, you're already burning up some muscle, Lgluteminekeeps that from happening.
Again, if you struggle with digestive issues, whether it's irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's disease, ulcerativecolitis, diverticulosis, diverticulitis, leaky gut or any of the issues associated with leakygut, like joint pain, rosacea, any type of autoimmune response, Lglutemine can supportyour body in healing.
